Marjorie Benedict

Marjorie (Evans) Benedict, age 83, passed away at the South Shore Hospital on Friday May 13, 2011. Marge was the loving wife of the late Edward Benedict and is the devoted mother of Peter Benedict and his wife Roberta of Weymouth, W. Michael Benedict of Jupiter, FL and Diane Gaughran of Pembroke. She also leaves her grandchildren; Michelle Kulik and her husband William of Pembroke, Michael Benedict and his wife Danielle of Hanson and Daniel Benedict of New York and Paul and Michael Gaughran of Pembroke, also survived by her 3 great grandhildren, Michael Benedict and Amanda Lombardi of Hanson and Peter Kulik of Pembroke. Marjorie was born in Liverpool, England and lived in South Weymouth for 60 years before moving to Pembroke 3 years ago. She was the first woman lay reader and was an active member for 60 years of the Holy Nativity Church. Marge also sponsored Native American Children for over 35 years with the Christian Children’s Fund. A Funeral Service will be held at the Holy Nativity Church, 8 Nevin Rd. S. Weymouth on Tuesday, May 17 at 10 A.M. Visiting Hours will be at the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home, 134 Pleasant St. S. Weymouth on Monday from 4 to 8 P.M. Interment will be in the Lakeview Cemetery in S. Weymouth. Donations may be made in Marge’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association 311 Arsenal St. Watertown, MA 02472. www.alz.org/manh/.
