Barbara (McGuire) Watts, 78, died on April 24, 2011 at the Colonial Nursing Home after a long illness. Barbara was born and raised in Roxbury, moved to Dorchester and settled in South Weymouth where she raised her family. After she was diagnosed with cancer, she moved to the Allerton House in Central Park, Weymouth.
Barbara worked at the Salada Tea Company, the cafeteria at Weymouth High School and as a housekeeper at Braintree Hospital. She was a loving mother who shared her love for the beach, reading, classic movies, painting seashells, cooking and other talents with her family.
Barbara is predeceased by her husband, Paul George Watts, and her sister, Doris McKinnon. She is survived by her children, Paul Watts and his wife Carol of North Reading, James Watts and his wife Cindy of Thornton, Colorado, Linda MacDonald and her husband Bill of Weymouth, Kathryn DiFraia and her husband Bobby of Melrose and Michael Watts and his wife Jacquelyn of Victoria, Minnesota, her brothers, Walter McGuire and Joseph Larcano and her sister, Margaret Smith. Her legacy includes fourteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. All of whom shared a special bond with their Grandma.
The Funeral will be from the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home, 134 Pleasant St. S. Weymouth on Wednesday April 27 at 10 A.M. followed by the Funeral Mass at the St. Francis Xavier Church, 261 Pleasant St. S. Weymouth at 11 A.M.
