Louis E. Tibbetts, age 87, passed away at the Colonial Rehabilitation and Nursing Center on Friday, April 8, 2011. Louis was the husband of the late Ethel B. (Boynton) Tibbetts. He is survived by his 3 sons, Reed E. Tibbetts of Weymouth, Paul B. Tibbetts and his partner Patrick Roche of Quincy and Mark E. Tibbetts and his wife Frances of East Lyme, CT, his 2 grandchildren, Steven M. and Julie F. Tibbetts both of East Lyme, CT, his brother John W. Tibbetts and his wife Effie of Lyman, ME and his 2 nephews. Lou is predeceased by his brother Paul G. Tibbetts. Louis was born in Yarmouth Port and lived in Weymouth since 1946. He was retired from Stop & Shop and was a member of their Quarter Century Club. Louis served his country in the Army during World War II. He was a 50 year member of the Orphans Hope Lodge of Masons, a past Patron of the Mayflower Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star and a past Dad Advisor of the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls. He camped for 30 years at the Pinewood Lodge in Plymouth. Visiting Hours will be at the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home, 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) S. Weymouth on Tuesday April 12 from 4 to 8 P.M. Prayer Service with Lois Taylor will conclude the visiting hours. A Graveside Service will be held at the Old North Cemetery, Norton St. N. Weymouth on Wednesday at 11 A.M.
