David E. Ericson Sr., age 73, a fire and security salesman, died peacefully Monday, March 21 at the Colonial Nursing Home. A native of Quincy he lived in Weymouth with his beloved wife, Mabel (Sherman) Ericson for over 50 years. Dave served in the Naval Reserves at the South Weymouth Naval Air Station for 7 years working as part of the air ground crew. Dave worked many different jobs before settling into sales at Automatic Sprinkler, ADT and Atlas Alarm Companies. He loved to travel, meet people, hear stories and tell a few of his own. Dave loved to talk and joke with people. Dave enjoyed “real” country and bluegrass music and was an amateur photographer.
Son of the late Anders C. and M. Marie Ericson and Brothers, Carl A., Robert C. and Charles A. Ericson. David is survived by his wife Mabel and children, Jon Ericson of South Weymouth, David Jr. and his wife Pochanart Ericson of South Weymouth and Mark and his wife Donna Ericson of Bel Air, MD, and his 4 grandchildren; Joshua, Jacob, Seth and Miles Ericson. David will be dearly missed by his beloved family, friends and dog “Sadie”.
All family and friends are welcome to attend The Funeral Service at the House of Prayer Lutheran Church, 916 Main St. Hingham on Friday, March 25 at 11A.M. and the Visiting Hours at the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home, 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) S. Weymouth on Thursday from 4 to 8 P.M. Interment will be in the Fairmount Cemetery in Weymouth.
