Jane R. (Wilson) Lyons, age 76, passed away unexpectedly, but peacefully, on Saturday, March 19, 2011. Jane was the wife of the late Thomas J. Lyons, the beloved mother of Ray Lyons and his wife Gail of Groton, the loving Grandmother of Philip Lyons of Maryland and Marie Lyons of New York City and the sister of Warren ‘Bud’ Wilson of Kingston, Ralph Wilson of NH, Dorothy ‘Dotty’ Hammond of ME and the late Nancy Gallagher of Middleboro. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Jane was born in Arlington, grew up in Middleboro, and graduated from Middleboro High School in 1952. She lived in Hanson from 1961-1993 and had lived in Weymouth from 1993 until now. Jane was a longtime parishioner of the Trinity Episcopal Church in Rockland and the Holy Nativity Episcopal Church in S. Weymouth where she served on the alter guild and vestry. She was the church secretary for many years at the St. Stephens Episcopal Church in Cohasset before retiring in 2008. She had previously worked at Heath Consultants and Brookfield Engineering in Stoughton. For many years she did volunteer work for the Whitman-Hanson Citizen’s Scholarship Foundation. A Funeral Service and Celebration of Jane’s life and ministry will be held at the Church of the Holy Nativity, 8 Nevin Rd. S. Weymouth on Thursday March 24 at 11 A.M. Visiting hours will be at the C.C. Shepherd Funeral Home 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) S. Weymouth on Wednesday from 4 to 8 P.M.
