Frances E. Bailey, age 92, passed away at her home on Monday, February 14, 2011. She was the wife of the late Raymond F. Bailey and sister to Joseph Zanghi of Roslindale. She is survived by her 3 children; Patricia M. MacIntyre and her husband Daniel of Weymouth, Raymond J. Bailey and his wife Karen of Concord and Joanne Bailey Kehlbeck and her husband William of Weymouth, her 8 grandchildren; Michael F. MacIntyre of Seattle, WA, John J. MacIntyre, Peter A. MacIntyre, Elizabeth A. MacIntyre, Joanna M. MacIntyre and David C. MacIntyre all of Weymouth, Nicholas A. Kehlbeck of Hoboken, NJ and Natalie B. Kehlbeck of Weymouth.
Frances was born and grew up in Roxbury and was a long time resident of South Weymouth. She graduated from Boston University with a Bachelor’s Degree in 1940. She was the first female Rate Setter at the Fore River Ship Yard, a Registered Home Economist by trade and the Co-owner of the Bailey’s Package Store in S. Weymouth. Fran was the Past President of South Weymouth Business Association and was an active member of St. Francis Xavier Parish.
The funeral will be from the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home, 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) S. Weymouth on Saturday February 19 at 9 A.M. followed by the Funeral Mass at the St. Francis Xavier Church, 261 Pleasant St. S. Weymouth at 10 A.M. Visiting Hours will be on Friday 3 to 8 P.M. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Frances’s memory to the Hospice of the South Shore, 100 Bay State Dr. Braintree, MA 02185-9060 or the Alzheimer’s Association 311 Arsenal St. Watertown, MA 02472. www.alz.org/manh/.
