John Graham Wilson, age 86, Passed away on January 27th, 2011. Beloved husband of the late Vivian (Talabach) Wilson. Born and raised in Boston's South End to parents Rose (Wynn) Wilson and James Murray Wilson of Chester England. He was a long time resident of S Weymouth. A WWII veteran recipient of the Purple Heart, Bronze Star, and Silver Star. He lost his left arm in combat in Italy at age 19. As a July 9th, 1944 Boston Globe Article describes, he was, "Undismayed by the loss…" Undismayed he was, as he led a full long life after his time in the service. He studied Trumpet under big band leader Harry "Hot Lips" Levine, he attended Boston School of Photography and worked as a Photographer for many years. He retired from Boston's South Postal Annex after 33 years of service. He loved movies, especially movies from Hollywood's Golden Era. He was also a Big Band aficionado. Most of all, he was the always strong, supportive father to his nine children, often referring to himself, even when he was younger, as "Dear Old Dad".
Survived by a brother Frederick Wilson of Arlington, and a sister Lois MacNeil of Haverhill. Loving Father of Judith Wilson-Schaeffer and husband Timothy of Somerville, Pamela Sciarappa and husband Jeffrey of Hull, Janice Wilbur and husband Danton of S Weymouth, Robert Wilson and wife Ann of Wollaston, James Wilson and wife Karen of Stoughton, Kimberly Wilson of Hingham, Jeffrey Wilson of S Weymouth, Christopher Wilson and wife Mary of Abington, and the late Michael J Wilson of Hanover and his surviving spouse Sandra of Whitman. Also survived by 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at the Holy Nativity Episcopal Church, 8 Nevin Rd S. Weymouth on Wednesday February 2 at 10 A.M.
