Thomas E. Countie

Thomas E. Countie, age 79, passed away at his home on Wednesday December 15, 2010. Tom was the devoted husband for 57 years of Kathryn (O’Toole) Countie, the son of the late Edward and Mary Countie of Quincy, the father of Thomas Countie of Weymouth, Noreen Countie of Weymouth, Sharon McGrath and her husband Tim of Carver and Sandra Andrade of New Bedford. He was the brother of Gerry Panessiti and her husband Joe and Patricia Smith. Tom also leaves 11 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and grand dog Morgan. He is predeceased by a son Michael Countie, a daughter Barbara Knowles and was the brother of the late John Copley, Russell Copley, Joseph Countie, E. Marie Dodds and Warren Copley. Thomas was retired from the U.S. Navy after 20 year of Service and worked at Green Environment in Quincy for several years. He loved ballroom dancing and was a loyal customer of Bob’s Muffin Shop. The Funeral will be from the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home, 134 Pleasant St. S. Weymouth on Monday December 20 at 9 A.M. followed by a Funeral Mass at the Immaculate Conception Church, 720 Broad St. E. Weymouth at 10 A.M. Visiting Hours will be on Sunday from 4 to 8 P.M. Interment will be in Fairmount Cemetery in Weymouth. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Tom’s memory to the Hospice of the South Shore, 100 Bay State Dr. Braintree, MA 02185-9060.
