Margaret E. Gifford

Margaret (Billard) Gifford, age 79, passed away at her home on Friday December 3, 2010. Margaret is the wife of the late Richard E. Gifford a retired Weymouth Fire Fighter. She is survived by her son Richard Gifford of Canton, her daughter Mary Patterson-Gifford of South Weymouth, her grandchildren, Jaime Patterson, Brian Patterson and his wife Cassie, Richard Andrew Gifford of the Army in South Korea and Daniele Gifford and her great grandson, Dylan Patterson . Margaret was also survived by her daughter-in-law Lisa Gifford, her sister, Hope Crowell of Scituate, her brother-in-law, James Malerba and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her Sister Jean Malerba. Margaret was a life long resident of Weymouth and attended the Hunt Grammar School, Weymouth High School and Bridgewater State College. She was a Clerk for the New England Telephone Company for 25 years retiring in 1989. While her children were young she was a Boy Scout Leader and Campfire Leader. She volunteered at the Whipple Senior Center and Meals on Wheels in Weymouth and enjoyed painting, sewing, gardening, bowling and bocce. A Funeral Service will be held at the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home, 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) S. Weymouth on Wednesday December 8 at 10 A.M. Visiting Hours will be on Tuesday from 3 to 8 P.M. Interment in Village Cemetery in Weymouth.
