Petty married her childhood sweetheart, the late Joseph V. Rose. She was a War bride in 1942. She prayed for 2 years for her soldier to return, a decorated veteran. She was widowed 61 years later.
Petty was the loving Mom to the late Robert R Rose, her pal & confidant.
She is survived by, her pride and joy, her son, James E Rose and his loving wife Leslie of Plainville, her sweet granddaughter, Megan Rose & husband Bo Borello, and great grandsons Jackson and Sean Borello of Oklahoma. Her loving son, friend & travel companion, Tracy K Rose of Braintree. Her devoted caretakers & Disney pals, daughter Jo Ann Rose and grandson, “My boy”, Anthony Joseph Rose of Weymouth. During her midage she began to usher up some friends and travel all over the world. Her first trip, was visiting her oldest son, Jimmie, serving in the Navy. The travel bug bit her. She visited Morocco, Spain, Gibraltar, Paris, the USSR, Mexico, Bermuda, San Francisco, Vegas, and Florida. She loved Disney, her favorite place, she could be a kid with her kids & grandkids. She became such a daredevil she actually took flying lessons. Later in life she enjoyed her Florida winters.
She was affiliated with the Pony Room Lounge many years and helped many single moms find a way to make a living and push them to go to school. She encouraged many entertainers to pursue their dreams. She was a good friend and had a great sense of humor.
Joe and Petty Rose’s number one happiness was their grandchildren. It was the joy they waited for all their lives and brought their love for each other to a greater level.
