Robert J. Reinhalter, 90, of Cross, SC, a retired ship fitter for the General Dynamics Shipyard in Quincy, MA, died on Thursday February 18, 2010 at his residence.
The Funeral will be from the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home, 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) S. Weymouth on Monday February 22 at 9 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM Monday at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 261 Pleasant St. S.Weymouth. Interment will follow in the Fairmount Cemetery in Weymouth. Visiting Hours will be on Sunday from 4 to 6 P.M. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Abigail Adams Historical Society, P.O. Box 147, Weymouth, MA 02191.
Mr. Reinhalter was born Feb. 8, 1920, in Quincy, MA, a son of Nicholas Reinhalter and Mary Clarkin Reinhalter. He was a graduate of Abington High School and was a member of the Abigail Adams Historical Society. Mr. Reinhalter was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and was a US Navy veteran of W.W. II. He was an avid horticulturist and worked at many locations including Old Colony Landscaping.
Surviving are, his wife, Olive Carter Reinhalter; a son, Donald A. Meacham and his wife, Julie, of Cross SC; a brother, Russell Reinhalter of Wilmington, NC; a granddaughter, Barbara N. Monroe of N. Charleston SC; a great grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.
