Jeannette Fairbanks Hawes

Jeannette Hawes, age 96, passed away at the Colonial Nursing Home on December 3, 2009. She is survived by her sister Mae Ovaska of Eastham, her nieces and nephews; Carol Ovaska of Eastham and Arthur Ovaska of Ithaca, NY, Brad Hawes of Sharon, Don Hawes of NC, Pat Kirsch of TX and Barbara Kerr of Canton. Jeannette is also survived by several grand nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her grandfather Selectman Bradford Hawes, her parents Harold and Ida Mae Hawes, her brother Brad Hawes and her nephew David Ovaska. Jeannette was a life long resident of Weymouth. She was a teacher at the Bicknell Junior High School in N. Weymouth for 40 years before retiring in 1973. Jeannette belonged to the Retired Weymouth Teacher’s Association and the Retired Massachusetts Teacher’s Association. Visiting Hours will be at the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) S. Weymouth on Saturday December 12 from 2 to 5 P.M. immediately followed by a Memorial Service at 5 P.M.
