Walter L. Harrington

Walter L. Harrington, age 76, passed away at the John Scott House in Braintree on Tuesday, September 29, 2009. Mr. Harrington is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Elaine (Ford) Harrington, his devoted son, Scott Harrington of Littlestown, PA and many cousins, nephews and nieces. Walter was born in Cambridge, grew up in Westwood and lived the last 42 years in South Weymouth. He graduated from Westwood High School, Franklin College, RCA Institute and North Eastern University. Mr. Harrington was an Insurance Loss Specialist for insurance Companies including Brewer and Lord in Boston for many years before retiring in 1995. He served his country in the army during the Korean War. Walter was a member of the Park Street Church in Boston, the Weymouth Historical Society, the Sons of Norway and the South Shore Baptist Senior Fellowship. A Funeral Service will be held at the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home, 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) S. Weymouth on Friday October 2 at 11 A.M. Visiting Hours will be on Thursday from 4 to 7 P.M. Interment will be in the Mount Hope Cemetery in Weymouth. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Walter’s memory to the charity of your choice.
