Robert J. Doherty

Robert Doherty, age 86, passed away at his home on Wednesday September 16, 2009. Bob is survived by his wife of 61 years, June (Sperry) Doherty. He is the father of Tim Doherty and his wife Karyn of Yorktown, VA, Michael Doherty and his wife Becky of Farmingdale, ME, Mark Doherty and his wife Debbie of Kingston and the late Jim Doherty and his wife Linda of Palermo, ME. Robert also leaves his 12 grandchildren; Eric, Shannon, Shawn, Kimberly, Cassie, Nick, Alex, Elizabeth, Danielle, Jason, Stephen and Cameron and his 5 great granddaughters. Bob was born and grew up in Brockton and lived in South Weymouth for the last 60 years. He was a Heavy Equipment Supervisor for Tilcon Construction Company for 40 years before retiring in 1988. Robert served his country in the Navy as a member of an Underwater Demolition Team in the Mediterranean and the South Pacific during World War II. Bob’s greatest loves were his family, doing projects with his sons, snowmobiling in the winter and taking his family on his boat, the Grey Feather. A Memorial Service will be held at the Church of the Holy Nativity, 8 Nevin Rd. S. Weymouth on Monday September 21 at 11 A.M.
