South Weymouth- Roy J. Johnson age 79 Passed away on August 10, 2009 at South Shore Hospital after a long illness, born in Boston he grew up in N. Quincy and attended school there, he enlisted in the Marine Corp and served in Korea, as a young man he worked for Pitnof Express, and later for Jenkins Trucking and APA Transport retiring as a supervisor, he volunteered with swim with a special child and loved his time spent with the children. Survived by his devoted wife Dorothy E. (Cunliffe) Johnson and his three sons Mark and his wife Sarah of IL, Stephen and his wife Dee of Manomet, and Scott of Va. And his daughter Donna and her husband Jack Knight of Fl. And was the father of the late Kathleen Johnson
Also survived by his Grandson 1st Sergeant Charles Gross United States Army presently serving his 3rd tour of duty overseas Funeral from the C.C. Shepherd Funeral Home 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Square) Weymouth Ma. On Thursday August 13, at 9 A.M. Followed by a funeral mass at St.Francis Xavier Church at 10 A.M. Visiting hours 4-7 P.M. on Wednesday Memorial Donations may be made to the Disabled American Veterans Assn.
