Cliff Dyson, a 52 year resident of S. Weymouth passed away at the South Shore Hospital on May 23, 2009 at the age of 88. He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Mary (Grant) Dyson, his daughter Eileen Elmore and her husband Richard of San Francisco. Son Stephen Dyson and his wife Marcia (Hobi) of Weymouth, Son Mark Dyson of Weymouth, his brother and sister-in-law Jack and Ann Grant of Quincy; his grandchildren Brianne Dyson, Kelly Elmore, and Camilla, Bea and Diogo Hobi; his faithful cat Cali, many nieces and nephews and friends on both coasts. Cliff was born on August 29, 1920 in Mliton to Charles F. Dyson and Mary (Fitzgerald) Dyson and survived by a brother Freeman. He grew up in Quincy Point and graduated from Quincy High in 1938. He was class Artist and art was certainly on of the great loves of his life. He frequently displayed paintings at art shows and won several awards and commendations. He served his country in the U. S. Army in Alaska during World War II. He worked for Remicks Department Store as a salesman and a buyer, then was employed by Boston Mutual Life Insurance Company for 28 years. After retiring he worked part time for Stop and Shop in the Deli where he once again was able to use his artistic skills on the daily specials board. Cliff loved to travel, dance and laugh. He was a sweet guy and true character who will be missed. The Funeral will be from the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home, 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) S. Weymouth on Friday May 29 at 9 A.M. The Funeral Mass will be held at the St. Francis Xavier Church, 261 Pleasant St. S. Weymouth at 10 A.M. Visiting Hours will be on Thursday from 2to4 and 7to9 P.M.
