Ruth (Southwick) Murphy

Ruth Murphy passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on Sunday May 10, 2009 at the age of 92. She was the beloved wife of the late Jack Murphy. Ruth is survived by her children Thomas Murphy of Orlando, FL, Kate Colasanti of S. Weymouth and Rich Murphy of Braintree, VT, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter Sally Brown. Ruth was born in Boston, lived in Braintree, MA most of her life moved to Braintree, VT in 1970 and has lived in Weymouth since 2008. Ruth was a Social Director at the Senior Center in Randolph, VT for 26 years before retiring at the age of 87. She frequently donated to Catholic Charities, loved all her animals, especially her faithful dog Sillie and was a shopaholic. Friends and relatives are invited to the visiting hour at the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home, 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) S. Weymouth on Saturday May 16 from 10:30 to 11:30 A.M. followed immediately by a funeral service at 11:30 A.M. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Randolph.
