Joseph LaMacchia, age 96, Passed away at the Harbor House Nursing Home in Hingham on Saturday April 4, 2009. Husband of the late Mary C. (Barbuto). Father of Joseph F. and his wife Beverly LaMacchia of Masphee and Janet M. and her late husband James S. Rice of Hingham.Grandfather of Kevin J. LaMacchia of Lexington, David J. Rice of Hingham and Matthew A. and his wife Jennifer of Wakefield. Brother of Eleonora Venti of E. Hartford Ct., Salvatore LaMacchia of Sherborn, Carmelo LaMacchia of Millis, Frank LaMacchia, John LaMacchia and Anna Harrington all of Waltham also survived by his Sister in-law Gloria Barbuto of Hingham. Brother of the late Anthony and Carmela LaMacchia, Domenica Caruso, and Mary Donovan. He was born in Watertown Mass and attended Watertown Schools as well as New England Aircraft School. Previous residences included Newton Centre and South Weymouth. He retired in 1976 after working at various cable companies as a Splicer including Simplex Wire and Cable for over 32 years. Shepherd Funeral Home 134 Pleasant Street (Columbian Square) South Weymouth on Wednesday April 8, 2009 at 10 A.M. followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Francis Xavier Church at 11 A.M.
