Thomas Borelli, a 45 year resident of Rockland passed away at the Radius Specialty Hospital in Quincy on Monday February 23, 2009 at the age of 73. Tom is survived by his wife of 51 years, Patricia (Vedoe) Borelli, his son Thomas Borelli and his wife Holly, his daughter Kimberly Borelli-Sanborn and her husband Jerry of South Weymouth, his brother Roger Borelli and his wife Susan of South Portland, ME and his 4 grandchildren, Kristina and Shaun Borelli and Zachary and Remy Sanborn. Thomas was born in Portland, ME and graduated from the Bishop Chevrus High School in Portland in 1955. Tom served his country from 1955 to 1959 in the Marines achieving the rank of Lance Corporal; Mr. Borelli worked as a salesman at Marshfield Sand and Gravel, Lakeville Ready-mix and A. Graziano Concrete Company in Braintree before becoming a security guard at the Gillette Razor Company, after retiring in 2001 Tom continued at Gillette part time. Mr. Borelli was a past Town of Rockland Planning Board Member and a Cooperator at the South Shore Savings Bank. He joined the Weymouth Rotary in 1975, became President in 1986 and became a Paul Harris Fellow, Tom was a member of the Weymouth Continental Marines, Son’s of Italy in Rockland and the Elks Lodge in Weymouth and was very active in Toys for Tots in Boston. The Funeral will be from the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) S. Weymouth on Friday February 27 at 9:30 A.M. The Funeral Mass will be at the St. Francis Xavier Church, 261 Pleasant St. S. Weymouth at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours will be on Thursday from 4to8 P.M. Interment will be in the Massachusetts National Cemetery on Friday at 1 P.M.
