Lawrence J. Mosel passed away at the South Shore Hospital on Monday February 9, 2009 at the age of 77. Mr. Mosel was the devoted husband for 54 years of the late Elizabeth M. (Lennon) Mosel. Sandy is survived by 3 children, Steven Mosel of Weymouth, Elizabeth R. Mosel of Berlin, NH and Sandra Castonguay of Weymouth, 3 grandchildren, Michael, Brian, and Melissa Mosel all of Weymouth and 2 brothers, Charles Mosel and Donald Mosel both of Weymouth. Lawrence was born in Boston and has been a 50 year resident of Weymouth. He was an avid sports fan of all the Boston Teams so good at baseball that he was offered a tryout with the Boston Braves but chose to go into the Navy to serve his country on the USS Foss during the Korean War. Sandy served 6 years in the Navy and became a decorated veteran. He worked in the paper industry as a machine operator and maintenance man for over 20 years. His passion was collecting G.I. Joe military action figures and Star Wars collectibles. His favorite activity was going to yard sales to locate rare figures for his collections. A Funeral Service will be private. Internment will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Weymouth.
