Elsie Mildred (MacDonald)Poincelot Passed away at Bay Path Nursing Home In Duxbury Jan 23, 2009 at the age of 88. Born in South Weymouth in May of 1920, Elsie was the daughter of Sarah Ann (Hall) of Boston and Ronald Augustine MacDonald of Prince Edward Island, Canada and the beloved wife of the late Earl J. Poincelot. She graduated from Weymouth Public Schools in 1937, and Mass. Memorial Hospital School in Boston in 1942, as a registered nurse. After graduation she chose to join the U.S. Navy on September 22, 1942 as a Commissioned Officer. She was assigned to Naval Hospitals in San Diego and Oakland; California, Aieh Heights, Pearl Harbor; Chelsea Naval Hospital, Massachusetts; and Newport, Rhode Island. She was discharged from Newport, Rhode Island in December of 1947 having achieved the rank of Lieutenant. Elsie was awarded the American Threatre Ribbon, the Asiatic-Pacific Area Ribbon, and the WW II Victory Medal. Elsie married Earl John Poincelot of Dalton, Mass. in 1947, where they lived prior to moving to California. They lived in California for many years before returning to Massachusetts in 1974. Elsie was predeceased by her sisters Dorothea Theresa O’Brien and Mary Elizabeth Cragin. She is survived by her loving sister Myrtle V. Connolly, of Kingston, also survived by 8 nieces, and a nephew, and many grand nieces and grand nephews. A graveside Service will be held on Thursday, Jan. 29, 2009 at Mt.
