Ruth (Runci) Dickerman passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, January 15, 2009 after a short illness at the age of 76. Ruth was the wife of the late Herbert Dickerman. She was the loving mother of her 3 children, Warren Dickerman and his wife Anne of Braintree, Steven Dickerman and his wife Theresa of Weymouth and Susan Dickerman of Weymouth, She is also survived by her 6 grandchildren; Jessica McFarland, Jaret Dickerman, Jamie Christopher, Jonathan Dickerman, Gena Bean and Stephanie Dickerman, her great grandson, Elijah Christopher and her brother Leonard Runci of Quincy. Mrs. Dickerman was born in Boston before moving to Weymouth in 1939. She was a communicant at St. Albert the Great Church and stayed the vigil to keep the church open. Ruth was employed by J.L. Hammett School Supplies Co. in Braintree, became a supervisor at Thayer Pharmacy Warehouse in Stoughton, worked at South Junior High School and then the Weymouth High School as a cafeteria cashier for 16 years and worked at the Hamilton Elementary School in Weymouth where she enjoyed assisting the children in the before and after school program for 15 years. Friends and relatives are invited to the funeral from the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home, 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) S. Weymouth on Tuesday January 20 at 9:30 A.M. followed by a funeral mass at St. Albert the Great Church, 1140 Washington St. Weymouth at 10:30 A.M. Visiting hours are on Monday from 2to4 and 7to9 P.M. Internment will be in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne on Tuesday at 1 P.M. Donations may be made in Ruth’s memory to the Hospice of the South Shore, 100 Bay State Dr. Braintree, MA 02185-9060.
