Henry L. Kohler passed away at the Hancock Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Quincy on December 31, 2008 at the age of 90. Mr. Kohler was the wife of the late Claire (Courtney) Kohler. He is survived by his 4 sons, John Kohler and his partner Dot Doyle of Brockton, Steven Kohler and his wife Kathy of Weymouth, Christopher Kohler and his wife Maureen of ME and Daniel Kohler of FL, his daughter Laraine Turner and her husband George of Reading and his sister Eunice Kohler of Weymouth. Henry also leaves 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Mr. Kohler was born in Braintree and was a life long resident of Weymouth graduating from Weymouth High School in 1939. He was also a graduate from Northeastern University in Boston. Henry served in the Army as a Tech Sergeant and received a Bronze Star during World War 2. He worked for 33 years as a Draftsman for Pneumatic Scale in Quincy before retiring in 1983. Henry loved traveling with his wife to Florida, the Amazon and several times to Jerusalem. He was an avid golfer and Red Sox fan. Friends and relatives are invited to the Funeral at the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) S. Weymouth on Monday January 5 at 1 P.M. Visiting Hours will be on Sunday 2to4 and 6to8 P.M. Internment will be in Plain Street Cemetery in Braintree. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Henry’s memory to Hancock Recreation Fund, 164 Parking Way, Quincy, MA 02169 in recognition of the loving care received.
