Marjorie E. Bain

Marjorie E. Bain passed away at the South Shore Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center in Rockland where she resided for the last 5 years on Wednesday December 31, 2008 at the age of 97. Mrs. Bain was a life long resident of South Weymouth and graduated from Weymouth High School in 1928. She was the daughter of the late Fred W. and Abbie L. (Poole) Belcher. Marge is survived by a niece, Joan K. Walsh of Scottsdale, AZ and several close friends. Many people knew her as the librarian for many years at the Fogg Library in Columbian Square in South Weymouth starting in 1949 and retiring as head librarian in 1979. Mrs. Bain was the last surviving member of the “Lucky 13” Club formed in the 1940’s and was a member of the Old South Union Congregational Church in S. Weymouth. Visiting will be at the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home, 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) S. Weymouth on Monday January 5 from 10 to 11 A.M. immediately followed by a Funeral Service at 11 A.M.
