Cynthia (Cassese) Zammitt

Cynthia E. Zammitt passed away at the Massachusetts General Hospital on April 21 at the age of 54 after battling a serious illness. She leaves behind her loving parents Lawrence and Elsie Cassese of East Weymouth and her devoted husband Steven Zammitt. Cindy was mother to Eric Zammitt of Bangor, Maine, Christina Zammitt of Chicago and Ashley Zammitt of Pinehurst, North Carolina and grandmother of Ty Zammitt. She also will be missed by her brother Lawrence Cassese, Jr. and her sister Jeri Cassese Johnson both of Boston. Cynthia was born and raised in East Weymouth and most recently resided in Marshfield. She attended Weymouth North High School and was a graduate of Springfield College. Cindy had an abundance of intellectual curiosity and was a voracious reader as well as being an avid sailor. She was devoted to her family and friends. Cindy's relatives and friends are invited to the Visiting Hours at the C.C. Shepherd Funeral Home, 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) S. Weymouth on Thursday, April 24 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and the Funeral Mass on Friday, April 25 at the Trinity Episcopal Church, 241 Broad Street, Weymouth at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in honor of Cindy’s spirit and courage to The Massachusetts General Hospital, Pulmonary Intensive Care Unit, 165 Cambridge St., Suite 600, Boston, MA 02114.
