Francis J. Schatzl passed away on April 17, 2008 at the age of 83. Mr. Schatzl is survived by his wife of 25 years, Hazel (Maraget) Schatzl, his children, Richard Schatzl and his wife Lori of Merrimack, N.H., Dana Schatzl of Quincy and Kimberlee (Schatzl) Sheehan and her husband Robert of East Bridgewater. He was also the father of the late Alan Schatzl. He is survived by his grandchildren, Adam Sheehan of East Bridgewater and Stephen Schatzl and Kathryn Bower of Merrimack, N.H. He is the brother of John Schatzl of New Port Richey, FL; and the late George Schatzl of Quincy. He is also survived by his former wife, Jean Crowley.
Additionally, he is survived by his Stepchildren, Robert Holbrook of S. Weymouth, Bruce Holbrook and his wife Leslie of E. Bridgewater, Ronald Holbrook and his wife Cora of Whitman, Wayne Holbrook of Austin, TX and the late Mark Holbrook of Weymouth. He is also survived by several step grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mr. Schatzl was born in Quincy, and attended Quincy Public Schools. He lived in West Quincy for most of his life, before moving to Weymouth. He worked at Mathewson Machine Works in N. Quincy as a Carpenter for 45 years. He was a Master Sergeant in the Army and was a veteran of WWII.
Family and Friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service at the C. C. Shepherd Funeral home at 134 Pleasant St.(Columbian Square), S. Weymouth on Tuesday April 22 at 11 a.m. with Burial immediately following at the Village Cemetery in Weymouth. Visiting hours will be on Monday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.
