Margarite Stowers passed away at her home on November 17, 2008 at the age of 90. She was the wife of the late Henry S. Stowers. Mrs. Stowers is survived by her 2 daughters, Challen E. Hammer and her husband Mark of West Sand Lake, NY and Leslie V. Oulette and her husband Roy of Portland, ME, and her grandchildren Nathaniel Robertson Hammer, Morgan Stowers Hammer, Alison Courtney Oulette, Virginia Anne Oulette, Chelsea Marie Oulette and Rebecca Lynne Oulette. She also leaves 3 Sisters, Ida Atterbury of San Diego, CA, Elizabeth Page of Nobleboro, ME and Priscilla Wheatley of Marion, MA and 1 brother Frank Burnham Lincoln Jr. of Norwalk, CT. She is predeceased by a daughter Ann Stowers. Margarite was born in Eastham, MA and lived on the coast throughout the country from Eastham, MA to Oakland, CA due to her father being in the Coast Guard. She was a resident of Weymouth since 1964. Mrs. Stowers graduated from Oakland High School in CA and was first in her class at the Peabody School for Girls Nursing Program. She was a Licenses Practical Nurse in several Weymouth Nursing Homes including Pope Nursing Home where she worked for many years. Margarite was an avid gardener specializing in Daylilies, an avid Red Sox Fan and enjoyed Music. Friends and relatives are invited to a Memorial Service at the Old South Union Church, 25 Columbian St. S. Weymouth on Saturday April 12 at 11 A.M. Arrangements made with the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq. ) S. Weymouth. Private interment is in Mt. Hope Cemetery in S. Weymouth. If desired, donations may be made in Margarite’s memory to the Memorial Concerts at Old South Union Church, 25 Columbian St. S. Weymouth, MA 02190.
