Althea F. (Pettengill) Bryant passed away at the Hope Hospice House in Fort Myers, FL on February 23, 2008 at the age of 89. Althea is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Warren J. Bryant, 4 sons; Philip Bryant and his wife Martha of Port Charlotte, FL, Russell Bryant of Ossipee, NH, Richard Bryant and his wife Pamela of South Weymouth and Steven Bryant and his wife Cheryl of Weymouth, 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Mrs. Bryant is predeceased by her sister Alice E. Pettengill, Lt. Col. (ret) USA. Althea was born in Boston, was a long time resident of Weymouth and lived in Harwich Port for the last 27 years. She graduated from Weymouth High School in 1937 and Boston Dental School of Nursing in 1938. Althea worked as a dental assistant for Dr. Sandman in Weymouth. Mrs. Bryant was past president of Shaw School PTA, past president of the Weymouth Alumni Association, past member of the Weymouth Grange and past president of the Old Colony P.M. Club. Family and friends are invited to the Funeral Service at the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home, 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) S. Weymouth on Saturday March 1 at 9:30 A.M. and the visiting hours on Friday February 29 from 4 to 8 P.M. Interment in Blue Hill Cemetery in Braintree. Donations may be made in Althea’s memory to the Hope Hospice House, 9470 Health Park Circle, Fort Myers, FL 33908.
