Lillian M. (Munroe) Sherman

Lillian M. Sherman formerly of Quincy died of a stroke on January 27 2008 at the Quincy Medical Center at the age of 98. She was the beloved wife of the late Vincent H. Sherman. Lillian is the loving mother of Mabel E. Ericson and her husband David E. Ericson Sr. of E. Weymouth, the devoted grandmother of Jon V. Ericson, David E. Ericson Jr. and his wife Pochanart all of S. Weymouth and Mark A. Ericson and his wife Donna M. of Dayton, OH. She also leaves 4 great grandchildren; Joshua D. and Jacob V. Ericson both of S. Weymouth and Seth A. and Miles A. Ericson both of Dayton, OH. and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Sherman was the devoted sister of the late James O. Munroe, Robert T. Munroe, William Munroe, Norman S. Munroe, Frederick A. Munroe and Hazel Parker. Lillian was born in Beverly, MA, graduated from Boston Clerical School and worked for many years at Parson’s Insurance Agency in Dorchester. She served on the Altar Guild at St. Chrysostom’s Episcopal Church in Wollaston for many years, was President of the Atlantic Women’s Club, member of the 2nd district Past President’s Club and the Wollaston Garden Club. Lillian volunteered for the Red Cross during WWII rolling bandages at the Quincy City Hospital and in her later years spent 8 years doing volunteer work at the Mass Respiratory Hospital in the TB Clinc and Gift Shop. Friends and relatives are invited to attend a funeral service at the House of Prayer Lutheran Church, 916 Main St. Hingham on Thursday January 31 at 2 P.M. and visiting hours at the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) S. Weymouth on Wednesday from 4 to 8 P.M.
