Gerard F. Brennan, born in South Weymouth in October 13, 1923, passed away at the South Shore Hospital on November 3, 2007. Mr. Brennan is survived by his wife of 60 years, Marjorie Hayden Brennan, a daughter Lee Streeter and her husband Dana of Ossipee, NH; son Shawn Brennan and his partner Nan Crawford of San Francisco, CA; 3 Grandsons: Jeremy, Joshua and Jared Lawson and 5 great grandchildren. His son Robert Brennan preceded him in death. Gerard graduated from Weymouth High School in 1941 and was a retired Foreman for the Weymouth Light and Power Company where he worked for over 40 years. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II as a Waist Gunner on a B17 Bomber. They were shot down on their first mission, he parachuted out and became a POW in Stalag 17 in Austria. Gerard received a Purple Heart. He continued service in the Korean War as a Master Sergeant and Warrant Officer. Family and friends are invited to visit Gerard’s home on Monday November 5 from 7to9 P.M. and attend a Funeral Service at the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) S. Weymouth on Tuesday November 6 at 2 P.M. Interment will be in the Blue Hill Cemetery in Braintree.
