James F. Delaney Sr.

James F. Delaney Sr. formerly of Hyde Park, a resident of Antrim, NH for 20 years who recently moved to S. Weymouth died at Brockton Hospital on November 2, 2007 At the age of 79. He was the beloved husband of Marilyn (Hickey) Delaney and the devoted father of Karen Doherty of Duxbury, Lyn Delaney of Quincy, James F. Delaney Jr. of Mesa, AZ and Dale Delaney of Hyde Park. James is also the loving grandfather of John, Shannan, Nancy and Sean. Mr. Delaney was a Maintenance Engineer for the John Hancock Life Insurance Company for 25 years before retiring in 1985. He was a World War 2 Army veteran and a member of the Hillsboro, NH American Legion Post 59. Visiting Hours will be held at the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) S. Weymouth on Wednesday November 7 from 10 to 11 A.M. followed immediately by a Funeral Service at 11 A.M. Mr. Delaney will be interred at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne at 12:45 P.M. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Jim’s memory to the South Shore Hospital Foundation, 55 Fogg Rd. S. Weymouth, MA 02190.
