George W. Price Jr. of Carver formerly of Weymouth died on October 20 at the Boston Medical Center at the age of 78. Mr. Price was born in Braintree, spent most of his life in Weymouth, graduating from Weymouth High School in 1948 then moved to Carver 2 ½ years ago with his wife of 46 years Norma (Crowder) Price. He is also survived by 2 sons Jeffrey Price and his wife Karen of Hanson and Joel Price of Weymouth, 1 grandson D.J. McAdams of Hanson, 3 brothers Deane Price of Marshfield, Ronald Price of Melbourne, FL and Ernest Price of Randolph. He also has 1 late brother Kenneth Price. George was a Field Engineer for the Burroughs Corporation for 34 years before retiring in 1986. His passion was photographing wild flowers and he was the past president of the Boston Camera Club. His involvement in The Old South Union Congregational Church included being the past deacon and past member of the choir. He was also a member of the South Shore Men of Harmony Barbershop Chorus and the Choral Art Society. He always loved telling a joke. Mr. Price was a Marine during the Korean War. A Memorial Service will be held at the Old South Union Congregational Church, 25 Columbian St. S. Weymouth on Monday October 29 at 11 A.M. Interment in the Village Cemetery in Weymouth will be private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in George’s memory to the National Audubon Society, Dept.
