Louise T. Olson

Louise T. Olson (Shukis) age 96 of Simsbury, CT Born in Brockton of Lithuania parents, December 27, 1910. Inveterate traveler, artist, teacher, mom and fan of Harvard football and Boston Red Sox, died at McLean Health Center in Simsbury, CT on July 21, 2007. She graduated from Boston University with a degree in chemistry in 1933 and taught for a dozen years in Brockton Public Schools and was later a long-term substitute teacher in the Weymouth School System. She was married to the late Harold G. Olson from 1943 to 1991, living in South Weymouth, MA for most of their adult lives. She is survived by her two sons and their families, Edmund H. Olson, MD and his wife Dorothy of West Simsbury, CT and U.S. Bankruptcy Judge John J. Olson and his wife Candy of Tampa, FL. Grandmother of Captain Christopher J. Olson, USAF JAG of Goldsboro, NC, Andrew D. Olson and his wife Staci of Freeport, ME, Elizabeth A. Jaskowiak and her husband Lt. Derek C Jaskowiak, USN of Virginia Beach, VA and Katherine L. Olson of Toronto, Ontario. Funeral from the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) S. Weymouth on Saturday July 28 at 9 A.M. Funeral Mass at the St. Francis Xavier Church 261 Pleasant St. S. Weymouth at 10 A.M. A reception for family and friends will follow interment in the Calvary Cemetery in Brockton.
