William Dempsey

William “Bill” R. Dempsey of Weymouth passed away on August 24,2022, at the age of 62. Bill was born in Dorchester and raised in Quincy where he graduated from high school in 1977. He then met his beloved wife Debra in 1979. Bill and Debra married in 1984, started a family in Quincy then settled in Weymouth. Bill worked as a computer analyst and programmer for many years.

Bill had many hobbies, and many enjoyed his sense of humor, especially his sarcastic wit. He was a big fan of the New England Patriots and was passionate about competing in fantasy football. Bill loved music, reading, wine, and going out to dinner with family and friends. He also cherished his family vacations to Carolina Beach and upstate New York.

Bill is survived by his loving wife Debra Dempsey (Meigs) of Weymouth, his son Michael Dempsey, his daughter Jen Dempsey, and her fiancé Alex Coe. Bill is also survived by his brothers John Dempsey and his wife Vicki, Rick Dempsey and his wife Robbin, and Steven Dempsey and his wife Christine. Bill is also survived by many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Friends and Relatives are respectfully invited to the visitation for Bill on Saturday, September 3, 2022 from 9-11am at C.C. Shepherd Funeral Home located at 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) Weymouth, Ma. A memorial service in honor of Bill’s life will immediately follow the visitation at 11am in the funeral home. Interment will follow at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bill’s name to The American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org.
