Lorraine Bresnahan of Weymouth passed away surrounded by her family on June 11, 2022, at the age of 95. Lorraine was raised and educated in Weymouth, graduating from Weymouth High with the class of 1945. After graduation she attended secretarial school and began work at John Hancock Insurance Company. She married John “Jack” Bresnahan in ’52 and took time off work to raise her family. After her children were old enough, she returned to work enjoying a 40-year career at the New England Telephone Company.

Lorraine was an extremely generous person always giving to various charities and gave a lot of her time volunteering at the Weymouth Food Pantry and Lifeline at South Shore Hospital. She was an avid reader and loved spending time with her beloved cat Chloe. She was a devoted member of St Francis Xavier church. In her younger years she was a member of the Ladies Sodality Group at the church and organized many events including the annual Christmas Bazaar. It was through the church that she developed lifelong friendships. Her and her group of friends were fondly named the “nine oclockers” as they would attend daily 9am mass at St Francis then go out to coffee and spend hours talking and laughing. Above all else she was a caring and loving mother and grandmother. She was the rock of the family and was most fulfilled in life when she was caring for her family.

Lorraine was the devoted mother of Stephen Bresnahan and his partner Rosalyn Olick of Brookline, Mary Noyes and her husband John of Mesa, AZ and Judi Smith and her husband Chuck of Weymouth. She was the grandmother of her cherished grandchildren Michael, Nicolas, Thomas, Jillian, Matthew, Rachel, Jeffery, Shaun, Andrew and great grandmother of Jonathan, Greyson, and Jameson. Lorraine was predeceased by her siblings Rudy and Vinny and was an aunt to many nephews. She also leaves behind many friends and Neighbors at Camelot way and St Francis Church.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a visitation for Lorraine on Wednesday June 15, 2022, from 5-7 in the evening at the CC Shepherd Funeral Home in Weymouth. A celebration of life will take place at the funeral home at 9:15AM on Thursday morning June 16, 2022. A funeral mass will take place at St. Francis Xavier Church at 10AM following the celebration of life. Burial will take place the Blue Hill Cemetery in Braintree. In lieu of flowers donations in Lorraine’s memory could be made to the Weymouth Food Pantry.
