William J. Sellgren of Weymouth passed away peacefully on May 23, 2022, at the age of 83. Bill was born, raised, and educated in Quincy, attending Quincy high and graduating with the class of 1957 and then attending Wentworth Institute of Technology. Immediately after graduating Bill joined the United States Army and served for 3 years. After his discharge Bill went to the state police academy finally joining the Braintree Police where he served the town for 39 years. While serving on the police department Bill would work nights and weekends doing plumbing and electrical work. Bill retired from the police department and stayed active with his business, William’s Plumbing and Electric that stayed in business up until just a few months ago.
Bill would very rarely be found sitting still. He stayed active and was always working multiple jobs and completing odd jobs on the side and at his own home. When Bill wasn’t working, he enjoyed spending time with his wife at their lake house in Maine where they would snowmobile, ride atv’s and just take in the nature. Bill was also a member of the Weymouth-Braintree Elks, the American Legion and the Holbrook Sportsmen's Club. Bill was truly a gift to all who knew him and will be forever missed.
Bill was the devoted husband of Donna Sellgren of Weymouth. He was the loving father of Linda Sellgren of Lakeville and Billy Sellgren of Taunton and the proud grandfather of Jessie Karsner of Plymouth and Jamie Webster of Swansea. Bill also leaves behind many more family and friends.
