Jacqueline Morvan, age 86, of Weymouth passed away on Wednesday, May 4, 2022. Jackie was born and raised in St. Nazaire, France where she experienced the horrors of WWII firsthand as a child. She came to the United States in 1962 with her husband Henri Urbain, enrolling in the University of California, Berkeley to earn her Master of Arts in French in 1967.
Jackie settled in Beverly, MA. where she raised her three children. She pursued a Nursing license and worked as an LPN at Salem Hospital for over 20 years. Eventually, she moved to the South Shore so she could help raise and be with her cherished grandchildren.
Jackie was devoted to family. She proudly kept in touch with her family and friends in France during her years in the U.S. spending every summer in St. Nazaire with her children for many years. She temporarily relocated to France in her later years to be with her sisters until permanently returning to the South Shore area.
Jackie is survived by her beloved children Michael Urbain and his wife Irene of Florida, Patricia Fossi and her husband José of Weymouth, and Henry Urbain and his wife Jenny of North Carolina, her cherished grandchildren Sean, Danielle, José, Eva, Vanessa, Katelyn, and Austen, and two brothers Yves Morvan and Alain Morvan of France.
Funeral arrangements for Jackie will be private to honor her wishes. She will be buried in Mount Hope Cemetery, Weymouth.
