RoseMarie Lanahan

RoseMarie “Rosie” Lanahan (McGilloway), age 85, of N. Weymouth passed away at home with loving family by her side on Thursday, April 7, 2022. Rosie was raised and educated in Boston. She married her husband, Henry, in 1954 and they settled in N. Weymouth where they raised a family together.

Rosie helped run North Weymouth Cab Company for over 40 years with her husband. Rosie loved her boat “The Rosemarie”. She and Henry loved the ocean and were members of the Braintree Yacht Club for many years. Rosie also enjoyed going to Barbados every year for fifteen years with her husband. They also made trips to Ireland and England.

Rosie was predeceased by her beloved husband Henry Lanahan and her son Michael Lanahan as well as her beloved brother Buddy McGilloway and her parents Rose and Hugh McGilloway. She is survived by her children Tommy Lanahan and his wife Jean of Sagamore Beach, and Susan Lanahan of N. Weymouth, her grandchildren Elizabeth, Jackie, Jessica, Katie, Tara, and Michael, and her sister Grace Linehan.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to the visiting hours for Rosie on Thursday, April 21, 2022 from 4-8 pm in the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home located at 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) S. Weymouth, MA. Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 9:15am on Friday morning for a Celebration of Life prior to the Funeral Mass which will take place at St. Jerome’s Parish in N. Weymouth on Bridge Street (Route 3A) at 10:30am. Interment will follow in Old North Cemetery, N. Weymouth.
