Debra Hemingway

Debra A. Hemingway, age 69, of Weymouth passed away with family by her side after a courageous battle with cancer on Saturday February 19, 2022. Debbie was born in Weymouth to Robert and Shirley (Bliss) Ritchie and resided there most of her life. She graduated from Weymouth High School in 1970 and married husband, Frederik, in 1977. They would have celebrated their 45th anniversary in December.

Debra worked for the telephone company for 30 years and retired from Verizon in 2001. She enjoyed crocheting, needlepoint, quilting, jigsaw puzzles and spending quality time with her beloved mini poodle Kirby.

Debra is survived by her beloved husband Frederik, her sister Donna of Weymouth, brothers Kenneth of Maine, Ronald of Florida and Ralph of Weymouth. She also leaves behind cherished nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers donations may be given to Debra’s memory to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, the South Shore Health Foundation, the Weymouth Food Pantry or the charity of your choice.
