Margaret Virginia “Ginny” (Brennan) Creaser of Hingham passed away on January 21, 2022 at the age of 95. Ginny was born in Cambridge, raised and educated in Somerville. She attended Somerville high school and then received her certificate in nursing from Shepherd Gill School of Nursing. She practiced private duty nursing until her marriage to Richard in 1948 and moved to Charlestown. She worked at Somerville nursing homes and later at Mass Eye and Ear Infirmary.
Ginny loved photography, her Yankee Doodle Cloggers, and shopping. She and her husband wrote and published historical articles for the Charlestown Patriot. They were both avid historians and adored local history. She was a lifetime member of the Bunker Hill Monument Association, a charter member of the Charlestown Preservation Society and the President of the Norumbega Woman’s club of Charlestown. Ginny enjoyed summers in NH at their lake house but most of all she lived for the company of her friends and family.
Ginny was predeceased by her beloved husband Richard Creaser. She was the loving mother of Richard Creaser and his wife Eleanor of Raymond, ME, Sandra Creaser of Hingham, and the late James Creaser. She was the grandmother of Derek and Edward and the great grandmother of Lexie, Samantha, Jason, and Kyle. Ginny was the sister of Francis Cross, Robert Cross, Kathleen Reddin, Edward Brennan, Mary Dennicourt, and Isabel Olsen. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to the visiting hours for Ginny on Thursday, January 27, 2022, from 10-11am in the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home located at 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) Weymouth, MA. A funeral service will take place immediately following the visitation at 11am in the funeral home. The family requests that you respect their wishes and please wear a mask in doors. A burial will be private at a later date.
