Frances DiCienzo

Frances DiCienzo, 83 years old, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Thursday, November 11, 2021.

Frances was born in Dorchester, and raised in Weymouth, MA. In 1957 she married the love of her life, Joseph DiCienzo, and they moved to Braintree where they raised their family. Frances loved entertaining and having Sunday dinners for her family every weekend. She loved having her grandchildren for sleepovers and swimming in the backyard pool during the summer months. Frances also lended her services with Sacred Heart Church in Weymouth for many years. She was also very involved with various PTA organizations in Braintree public schools. Frances and Joe loved their yearly visits to Saint Maarten and trips to Italy.

Frances was pre-deceased by her parents Giovanni Paterno and Giovanna Paterno, her brother Salvatore Paterno. She is survived by her husband Joseph DiCienzo of 64 years, her four children, daughter Mary-Joan (DiCienzo) Foley and her husband Mark, son Joseph N DiCienzo and his wife Denise, son John DiCienzo, and son Christopher DiCienzo and his wife Penny, along with 11 grandchildren, two great grandchildren and many extended family and friends.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to a funeral mass for Frances on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at 10:30AM at the Sacred Heart Church in Weymouth Landing. A Burial at Knollwood Memorial park will follow. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Frances's memory to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital , PO Box 50 Memphis, TN 38101-9929.
