Douglas Sargent

Douglas Sargent, age 59, of Rockland passed away suddenly on October 16, 2021. Youngest son of Marcia (and the late Donald) Sargent, Doug was born and raised in Weymouth, graduating Weymouth Vocational Technical High School. He met his beloved wife Beth there 40 years ago. They started a family and moved to Rockland in 1992. Doug was a proud member of the Pile Drivers Local Union 56 for 34 years.

Doug was a man of many talents and hobbies. He enjoyed wood carving, painting, photography, and working on cars. As a child, he loved summers down the cape, and later he enjoyed spending time with family and friends in Maine and New Hampshire. Above all else Doug was a loving Husband, Father, Son, Brother, and friend to all. He will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure to have known him.

Doug was the cherished husband of Beth Sargent (Nista) of Rockland, Loving father to Amy and Rebecca Sargent of Rockland. Doug also leaves behind his siblings Brenda Adams of Arizona City, AZ, Debbie Sullivan of Weymouth, Maureen Cosgrove of Bellingham, Mark Sargent of Weymouth and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to A Celebration of Life on Thursday October 28, 2021 at 1030am in the C.C. Shepherd Funeral Home, 134 Pleasant St. Weymouth (Columbian Square). Donations in Doug’s memory may be made to Depth Recovery Project, 884 Washington Street Suite 100, Weymouth MA 02189.
