Carol Cass

Carol Ann (Perrone) Cass, 74, of Abington, and formerly of Weymouth, passed away suddenly on July 30, 2021. Carol was raised and educated in Weymouth, graduating from Weymouth High School in 1964. She was employed in the banking industry and held various management positions at East Weymouth Savings Bank, State Street Bank, and BISYS Group. Carol concluded her career as Vice President of Asset Retention Solutions at Open Solutions, Inc. where she retired in 2009. She was especially proud of being a two-time award winner of the prestigious State Street Chairman’s award.

An extremely generous person who cherished her faith, Carol volunteered with various charities including the State Street Foundation. Carol enjoyed traveling with her late husband, Bob, and spending time with her family and grandchildren on vacation in the white mountains of North Conway, N.H. or in the theme parks in Orlando, FL. With an interest in self-defense and fitness, Carol became a black belt in karate at age 72. She loved to talk about her Italian heritage and frequently cooked Italian meals for her family. Having a sweet tooth, she loved ice cream and savored her favorite Torrone candy.
Carol is survived by her loving children Kristen (Dunbar) Palmer and her husband Edward of Weymouth, Kara (Dunbar) Willis and her husband Michael of Abington, Mary Ann Trask and her husband William of East Bridgewater, Susan Kaszanek of East Bridgewater, and Christine Browne and her husband Adam of El Sobrante, California.

Carol was the loving grandmother to sixteen cherished grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, John Perrone and his wife Paula of Medfield, along with their children, and her sister Cheryl Salvucci and her husband Paul of Hanover, along with their children. Carol is also survived by many cousins, extended family, and friends.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours for Carol on Tuesday, August 3rd from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home, located at 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.), in South Weymouth. Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 9:00 AM on Wednesday, August 4th, for a celebration of life prior to the funeral Mass at St. Francis Xavier Church, Weymouth, at 10:00 AM.
