Rose Dentali (Landuzzi), 96, of Marshfield passed away on Monday, July 5, 2021. Rose was raised in Somerville, graduating from Somerville H.S. in 1943. She met her husband, Denio Dentali, at a post-WWII dance. Married in 1948, they lived in Medford where they started their family before moving to Reading. Rose worked as a legal secretary for many years before retiring to pursue travel and other interests, especially dancing.
An avid reader and lifelong learner, Rose was curious about everything and everyone. She was fascinated by people’s back stories. She was fortunate to move to Proprietor’s Green in Marshfield pre-pandemic where she made many interesting friends and enjoyed numerous activities.
Rose was known for her joie de vivre and sense of humor. Her goal was to put a smile on your face. She loved being the center of attention and delighted in bold jewelry and a flamboyant wardrobe. As she would tell you, she had an image to uphold. She was also a big flirt.
Rose was predeceased by her husband after nearly 40 years of marriage, and more recently her long-time companion, Bill Djerf. She is survived by her daughter Denise Boyd and husband Robert of NH; her son, Steven Dentali of CA; her daughter Dawn Malatesta of CA; her grandchildren Scott and Madison Malatesta; and her sister, Lois Caddle of Marshfield.
Funeral arrangements are in the care of C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home in Weymouth. A celebration of Rose’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Alzheimer’s Association at www.ALZ.org. Rose was mentally sharp until her death, but many friends were not as fortunate.
