Janice Schofield

Janice Schofield (Henry), age 87, a lifelong Weymouth resident passed away at home with her daughter Donna by her side on July 1, 2021. Jan graduated Weymouth H. S. in 1951 and started a family in Weymouth in 1953.

Janice proudly ran the admitting department at South Shore Hospital for 45 years. She had an amazing presence everywhere she went and will be thoroughly missed by her many friends. You could often spot Jan at various Columbian Square establishments eating meals with her friends, usually commenting on how her stove has never been cooked on since she bought it.

Janice was predeceased by her son Bruce Schofield. She is survived by her loving daughters Dianna Lacourse of ME and Donna Dean of Abington, her grandchildren Jeannette, Heather, and Derrick, and her great-granddaughter Isabela.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to the visiting hours for Janice on Tuesday July 6, 2021 from 9-11am in the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home located at 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) Weymouth, MA 02190. A funeral service will take place in the funeral home immediately following the visitation at 11am. Interment will follow at Hanover Center Cemetery, Hanover. Donations may be made in memory of Janice to either St. Jude Children’s Hospital at www.St.Jude.org or to the ASPCA at www.ASPCA.org.
