Arlene Mills

Arlene F. Mills (Goodrow), age 83, of Weymouth passed away Saturday, June 26, 2021 with loving family by her side. Arlene was raised and educated in Weymouth graduating from Weymouth H.S. in 1957. She married her first husband, Leo Burns, in 1961 and they started a family in Weymouth.

Arlene loved working as a Crossing Guard at various Weymouth Schools from 1978-2020. Arlene is the widow of Thomas Mills who she married in 1972 and they continued to build their family along with countless memories in Weymouth. When Arlene was not working hard to support her family she enjoyed bowling in various leagues and doting on her beloved grandchildren and great-granddaughter. She also was an avid Bruins fan.

Arlene was predeceased by her former husbands Leo Burns and Thomas Mills, and her siblings John Goodrow and June Levangie. She is survived by her loving children Leo R. Burns Jr. of Weymouth, Maureen Burns of Braintree, Kim Lyman of Braintree, and Richard Mills of Weymouth, her grandchildren Mathew, Ian, Brittani, Paige, Cody, Melissa, and Christopher, and her great-granddaughter Alivia. Arlene is also survived by her siblings Claire Amburg, Joseph Goodrow, Dorothy Archibald, Robert Goodrow, and Carole Ross.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to the visiting hours for Arlene on Thursday, July 1, 2021 from 4-8pm in the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home located at 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) Weymouth, MA. Relatives and friends are invited to the funeral home on Friday morning at 9:30am for a Celebration of Life prior to the funeral mass which will begin at 10:30am in Immaculate Conception Church located at 1203 Commercial Street Weymouth, MA 02189. Burial will follow in Pine Hills Cemetery, Quincy. Donations may be made to the American Lung Association at www.Lung.org.
