Matthew Ciavattieri

Matthew Joseph Ciavattieri, age 50, of Weymouth passed away peacefully with his family by his side on May 23, 2021. Matthew graduated from Weymouth High School in 1989. After he studied computer science at Newbury College in Boston, MA. Matthew had a passion for Medieval Times and enjoyed many seasons working at King Richard’s Faire and made wonderful friendships that he cherished there. He also enjoyed travelling to various Faires throughout the country.

Matthew also was an avid fan of technology and was often on his computer or listening to audio books. Though Matthew battled with ill health since he was a young child, he always had a warm, mischievous smile that was one of his trademarks. Matthew was very active in the Boy Scout Troop 19 in Weymouth and made lifelong friendships with his fellow scouts. He also enjoyed vacationing with his family in Florida. Matthew was devoted to his family and held a special place in his heart for his niece Farrah Jewel Goodwin.

Matthew is survived by his mother Sheila Ciavattieri and Fred Butts Jr. of Weymouth and Father Frank and Roberta Ciavattieri of Florida, his brother Michael Ciavattieri of Weymouth, and step-siblings Alicia Butts, Fred III and Melissa Butts, Amanda Butts and James McCarthy and Jeffrey Butts and Elyse Saunders and nieces Farrah, Natalia, Kaydence and nephews Christopher and Luke.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to the funeral mass in honor of Matthew’s life which will be held on Friday, May 28, 2021 at 10am in St. Francis Xavier Church at 234 Pleasant St, South Weymouth, MA.
