Candace “Candy” Joy Faraday of Redlands, CA passed away on February 20, 2021. Candy was born on January 6, 1950 and raised in Weymouth. In her late teens, she moved to California, living in Haight-Ashbury during the famed “Summer of Love” and then lived off of the land in Ukiah. After returning to Massachusetts to raise a family, she later received a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Work from Bridgewater State University in 2002. Amongst her many careers, Candy served her community delivering food to the elderly with ‘Meals On Wheels’, working at the Abington Council on Aging, as well as at the South Shore Hospital as a financial counselor.

Candy was a woman of many hobbies and interests and a passion for exploration. She taught Hatha Yoga, was a baseball historian and a dedicated family genealogist. Amongst her many journeys, two of her favorites were to Poland and Cuba. Candy was an avid Red Sox fan, so much so that she adopted the nickname “Candy Sox”. She was also a proud member of the Bo Sox Club for 30 years and held Red Sox season tickets for 22 years. She absolutely loved to bring her family to the games at Fenway Park. Her love of the game brought her to travel to many minor and major league ball parks with her son. Candy also achieved the ultimate fan’s goal of attending a game at every major league ballpark across the country.

Candy was predeceased by her parents Donald and Jean (Brzycki) Yourell and her sister Carol King. She was the loving mother to David Emrick and his wife Connie of California, and adoring grandmother of Grace Emrick. Candy was the beloved sister of Donna Dolan (Yourell) and her late husband James of Abington. She also leaves behind her former husband and great friend Stephen Faraday; her former husband David Emrick; her nieces and nephews: Christopher and his wife Ashley, Sarah and her husband Pejman, Lindsay, Holly and her husband Chris, Tiffany, Nicole, Steven, Kristi, Kerrie, Carrie, Tommy and Adi Shakti; her great nieces and nephew Amari, Lilly, Leila, Liberty, Riley, and Jackson, and many other loved family and friends. She is also survived by her two best friends Barbara and Kim. She will be truly missed by all who knew her.
