Leonard Debow

d. February 23, 2021

Leonard L. Debow, age 72, of Abington passed away on Tuesday, February 23, 2021. Lenny was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA. After high school he moved to Boston for college and also to be closer to family. He worked with Local 88 Tunnel Workers and was proud to have been a part of both the Orange and Red Line train extensions in Boston. Lenny also had his own carpentry business for a short time and when he was younger enjoyed working on two national presidential campaigns.

Lenny was a lifelong sports fan, routing for the Celtics, Patriots and the Steelers over the years. He was also a devoted father who never missed one of his children’s or grandchildren’s games. Lenny loved playing basketball and coaching his children’s teams as well as the team at the Twelfth Baptist Church in Boston where he was an active member for many years. Lenny’s greatest joy was spending time with family and friends on visits to Maine, Maryland, DC, Pennsylvania and Jamaica.

Lenny is survived by his loving children Jessamine Wigfall of Dedham (Mark), Katherine Kline of Abington (Aaron), L. Porter Debow of Randolph (Annette), Anne Debow of Maine (Dylan), and Debra Hugh of Indiana (Tyrone), his grandchildren Mario, Tyler, Miles, and Alyssa, and many loving nephews, cousins, and great-grandchildren. Lenny is also survived by his children’s loving mothers, Joan and Laurie, who together maintained life long friendship creating the close-knit family that they are today.
