Lillian M. George (McDonald) of Quincy entered into eternal rest on January 6, 2019 at the age of 93. Lillian was the wife of the late Harry George. Loving mother to Robert and his wife Suzanne of Battle Ground, WA, Rosemarie Lauria and her husband Daniel of Braintree and Kathleen Gile and her husband William of Weymouth. She was the proud grandmother of Thomas and Timothy George, Kristen Larson, Alyson McNamara, Courtney Lauria, Zachary Werth, Jordan and Chase Gile, and the late Christopher George all of whom she adored and spent many hours taking them on the train to the Boston Swan Boats, museums etc. She was the great grandmother to Cecilia, Ava, Chloe and Braedan Larson. Lillian is predeceased by her loving sister Mary Fairful and brother Joseph McDonald. She also leaves behind her brother George McDonald of Wrentham and her favorite dog Bailey Gile.
Lillian was a devoted parishioner of St Joseph’s during her many years as a resident of Quincy. She worked at Boston Financial Data Service for many years before retiring in 1993. Aside from her bingo nights, Lillian especially enjoyed walking, an activity she did on a regular basis and no distance was too far. While maintaining hobbies and friends Lillian always made time for her grandchildren whom she loved dearly.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to the visiting hours for Lillian on Thursday January 10, 2019 from 4-7pm at C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home located at 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) Weymouth, MA. Relatives and friends will gather at St. Francis Xavier Church located at 234 Pleasant St. Weymouth on Friday for a Funeral Mass in honor of Lillian that will begin promptly at 10am. Burial will immediately follow at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Jude’s Hospital for Children at 262 Danny Thomas Place Memphis, TN 38105 or Old Colony Hospice 321 Manley St, West Bridgewater, MA 02379.
